What is it?
Bichectomy (or Buccal fat removal) is a plastic surgery procedure for reducing prominent cheeks, by the proportional removal of buccal fat-pad tissue. The typical approach for removing the buccal fat pad is through an incision in the mouth, towards the back of the oral cavity, near the second upper molar. An incision is made and the fat pad is then detached and removed. The incision is then stitched on the inside of the patients mouth.
